IMDG: Ocean Shipments (Recurrent) - Online Course Information
Tuition: $295 per seat (multiple seat discounts available)
Prerequisite: IMDG training within the previous 3 years.
Materials: Current edition of the IMDG Code required for this session. If you need a current copy, we suggest purchasing one from Labelmaster 800-358-6200, JJ Keller 800-843-3174 or DG Supply 800-347-7879.
Training valid for: 3 years
Time Required:
12 to 20 hours for recurrent training or for someone who has not regularly used the IMDG Code.
8 to 12 hours for those who regularly use the IMDG Code.
Who should take this course? Any hazmat employee who has had IMDG initial training within the previous 3 years and needs to understand how to use the IMDG Code. This includes: Shippers, Forwarders, NVOCC's and other Shore-side personnel.
Please note: Shipboard personnel may wish to seek additional in-depth
training regarding loading and stowage issues aboard their vessels.
Scope of this course: IMDG training (including DOT Safety and DOT Security Awareness). This program includes 8 modules covering, Introduction, Classification, Dangerous Goods List, Limited Quantity, Appendices, Packaging and Tank Provisions, Consignment Procedures, Packaging Construction and Tests, Transport Provisions and US Regulations. This course covers non-bulk and IBC/Portable Tank transport of non-radioactive material.
This course includes: Shipper and Forwarder requirements for shipping non-bulk packagings and IBC's using the IMDG Regulations.
Are any additional training courses required?
Function Specific Training - Ultimately (in the United States) your employer has final responsibility for determining if a hazmat employee is properly trained for their particular job function. Since there is a potential for limitless types of job functions as determined by an individual employer, we as your training provider can only suggest what types of additional training might be required.
For the best Online Training experience:
Able to work independently without an instructor present.
Familiar with the use of a computer and common software.
Knowledge or understanding of the applicable regulations.
Fluent in the English language.
It is recommended you use Internet Explorer.
High-speed connection is recommended, but not required.
You can log in and out of the training program at any time, and as often as you wish (except during the exam where you must complete the course in one sitting) Logging out during the exam will lock you out of the program and the entire exam must be taken again.
Log out if you must leave your desk. The program may lock up if your computer is left idle for more than 10 minutes.
Ensure sound is turned on and the volume is up as these courses have audio files.
